Ven. Lt. Col. Ogbonyomi (rtd) Appointed As Primate Ndukuba New Private Secretary
The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The Most Rev’d Dr. Henry C. Ndukuba, has appointed The Venerable (Lt. Col. Rtd) Titilope Ogbonyomi as his new Private Secretary.
According to the official appointment letter signed by the General Secretary of the Church of Nigeria, The Venerable Dr. Paul Dajur, the decision recognizes Venerable Ogbonyomi’s exemplary commitment, discipline, and dedicated service, particularly within the Nigerian Army Protestant Chaplaincy.
Venerable Ogbonyomi’s appointment will take effect from October 1, 2025. He succeeds The Venerable Ifeanyi Akunna, who was recently elected as the pioneer bishop of the newly established Missionary Diocese of Ogaja.
A retired Lieutenant Colonel and Venerable in the Anglican Communion, Ogbonyomi previously served as Director of Chaplaincy Services (Protestant) for the Nigerian Army. His distinguished career includes service during the Nigerian Civil War and as Chief of Staff for the ECOMOG Peacekeeping Mission in Liberia. He retired from active military duty in late 2024.
In his statement, Dr. Dajur expressed confidence that Venerable Ogbonyomi’s passion, dedication, and extensive experience will greatly enhance his contributions to the Church. He offered prayers that God, who has called him to this new responsibility, will grant him wisdom, grace, and strength to serve faithfully—to the glory of God and for the good of His Church.
